Lead Support Facilitator/Worker
Vickers Neal Recruitment is currently working with CIRCLES NETWORK. Circles Network is a UK wide charity, renowned for building inclusive communities on the foundations of justice, advocacy, empowerment and relationships.
This is a supervisory and hands role working as a Lead Facilitator/Worker providing person-centred empowering support to individuals to enable them to live the lives they choose, as well as supporting the management of the service and the Facilitators that provide it.
Lead Support Facilitator – Circles Network Facilitators work one to one and in small groups with people to understand what they want out of their lives, achieve their goals and to help them find solutions to overcome barriers. The main aim of the work is to assist the person to become involved in their local community, doing things that they enjoy and which are meaningful to them, e.g. taking cooking classes, dance lessons, swimming at the local leisure centre, working etc.
Your role will be to supervise the work of the Facilitators – ensuring cover and managing day to day issues. You will also be a facilitator for a number of individuals, assisting them to meet new people and establish and maintain new relationships. Each individual will determine how their support is arranged and you may be required to assist the person in drawing together a Person-Centred Plan. Ultimately, you will lead an innovative project, ensuring people develop and grow whilst maintaining high quality, respectful support for each individual.
Experience of working closely with disabled people including people with learning, physical or sensory difficulties and / or mental health issues, along with the ability to communicate with people from a variety of backgrounds using a creative range of communication styles.
An open, respectful and honest manner and be able to overcome any barriers to communication.
Excellent report writing skills with the ability to write in a clear, concise factual way.
Functional use of IT etc
Good time management, planning and organisational skills.
Experience of engaging and maintaining positive relationships with multiagency partners is also highly beneficial.
The successful applicant for this post will be required to apply for the background disclosure check at the enhanced level (funded by Circles Network).
The ability to work flexible hours, which include evenings and weekends, is vital.
You will need to be able to drive and have full use of a car.
Ideally, you will hold NVQ-level qualification(s) in social care, although training is possible.
You may have experience of the following: Support for people with ill health or disability,, Charity, Charities, Third Sector, Community Development, Social Care, Support Facilitator, Social Inclusion, coaching etc.
A solid back ground in Health and Social Care is essential
